Legal Counsel

About the Role

The role is responsible for our client's in-house legal capabilities as a trusted business partner to the Group CEO and senior management on legal risks and governance matters in a highly regulated industry.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and negotiating ISDA/CSA and Prime Brokerage agreements to secure trading liquidity: Creating the legal Terms of Business and Customer Agreements that define the broker-trader relationship and execution policies.
• Structuring contracts for Introducing Brokers (IBs), affiliates, and white-label partners, focusing on liability and commission structures.
• Protecting the firm against litigation related to trade execution, slippage claims, and "bad faith" trading maneuvers by clients.
• Safeguarding proprietary trading algorithms and managing employment contracts for key personnel (traders and quants).
• Assessing the legal risks of launching new asset classes (e.g., Crypto CFDs) and features like social or copy-trading.

Qualifications

• LL.B from a reputable institution
• Min. 5 to 7 years PQE
• Excellent leadership skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
