L/S Equity Analyst (Asian Equities, Generalist) - Singapore

We are currently partnering with a globally recognised investment management firm to hire a Long/Short Equity Analyst for its Singapore investment team.

Our client, a leading global investment firm based in Singapore, is seeking a highly motivated, intellectually curious, and commercially minded investment professional to join its long/short equities investment team covering Asian equities markets.

This is a rare opportunity to join a top-tier buy-side investment platform with exposure across long/short equity investing and fundamental research. The successful candidate will work closely with highly respected portfolio managers and senior investors, gaining direct exposure to investment decision-making within a dynamic and performance-driven environment.

Key Areas of Responsibility

1. Conduct bottom-up fundamental equity research and investment analysis across Asian companies
2. Build and maintain detailed financial models, company valuations, and earnings forecasts
3. Generate high-conviction long and short investment ideas across Asian equity markets
4. Analyse company financial statements, competitive positioning, industry dynamics, and macroeconomic trends
5. Monitor market developments, sector news, earnings releases, and corporate announcements
6. Prepare detailed investment memos, research reports, and presentation materials for portfolio managers
7. Support portfolio construction and investment decision-making processes
8. Attend meetings with company management teams, investor relations professionals, industry experts, and sell-side analysts
9. Collaborate closely with senior investment analysts and portfolio managers within the investment team

Role Requirements

1. 2–8 years’ experience within equity research or investment analysis
2. Experience can be gained from either buy-side or sell-side institutions including hedge funds, asset managers, investment banks, or equity research boutiques
3. Strong knowledge of Asian equities markets is essential
4. Advanced financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skillset
5. Demonstrable passion for investing and public markets, including independent investment research and stock analysis
6. Outstanding academic background, ideally within Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline
7. Candidates holding, or actively progressing towards, the CFA are preferred
8. High levels of intellectual curiosity, commercial awareness, and attention to detail
9. Excellent communication and written presentation skills
10. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Singapore
