Manager, Operations Management (Fab experiences)

As Manager, Operations Management in R\u0026D, you will provide leadership and operational management for R\u0026D manufacturing activities, with primary responsibility for lot management, capacity planning, and execution forecasting in a development environment. You will also end the end-to-end coordination of wafer flow to ensure timely execution of experiments, development builds, and learning cycles. Manages and develops a team of technicians to deliver disciplined execution, data integrity, and predictable outcomes while partnering closely with Process Engineering, Integration, and Planning teams. timely delivery of R\u0026D milestones.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Owns daily, weekly, and longrange lot planning and forecasting for R\u0026D development and manufacturing activities to meet experiment and program objectives. \n\n * Manages wafer starts, WIP, priorities, and lot movement across process, metrology, and inspection areas to ensure schedule adherence. \n\n * Leads and supervises a team of technicians, including work assignment, shift coverage, performance coaching, and skill development. \n\n * Translate development priorities and experiment plans into executable shopfloor schedules and technician tasking. \n\n * Tracks execution metrics (WIP aging, cycle time, ontime delivery) and proactively identifies risks to development milestones. \n\n * Coordinates with Process Engineering and Integration teams to align DOE execution, split management, and wafer disposition. \n\n * Ensures proper escalation and resolution of lot issues, abnormal conditions, and execution constraints. \n\n * Drives continuous improvement in lot flow, dispatching rules, and execution efficiency within the R\u0026D environment. \n\n * Reviews execution data and provides clear status reporting to stakeholders on progress, risks, and recovery actions.\n\n * Monitor equipment health and inline data to ensure productivity \n\n\n\n\nPeople Leadership \u0026 Team Management\n\n * Manages a group of technicians responsible for process support, metrology, inspection, and experimental execution.\n\n * Sets clear expectations for execution discipline, data quality, and safety compliance.\n\n * Conducts regular coaching, feedback, and development discussions to build technical and operational capability.\n\n * Supports onboarding, crosstraining, and succession planning to ensure team flexibility and coverage.\n\n * Promotes a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.\n\n\n\n\nSafety, Quality \u0026 Compliance\n\n * Ensures team compliance with Applied Materials EHS, cleanroom, chemical handling, and contamination control requirements.\n\n * Enforces process discipline and data integrity standards across all execution activities.\n\n * Reviews and approves Quality Notifications related to execution deviations or lot issues.\n\n * Proactively identifies operational risks and drives corrective and preventive actions.\n\n\n\n\nFunctional Knowledge\n\n * Strong understanding of wafer fabrication flows, R\u0026D execution models, and development cycle management.\n\n * Working knowledge of lot dispatching, WIP control, forecasting methodologies, and execution KPIs.\n\n * Ability to balance competing priorities in a fastchanging development environment while maintaining execution rigor.\n\n * Conducts thorough analyses to identify execution deficiencies, capacity constraints, and opportunities for operational enhancement\n\n\n\n\nInterpersonal \u0026 Communication Skills\n\n * Communicates clearly with Process Engineers, Integration Leads, and Planning teams regarding execution status and priorities.\n\n * Provides concise operational updates, forecasts, and risk assessments to management and stakeholders.\n\n * Leads effective shift handovers and crossshift coordination to ensure continuity of execution.\n\n * Influences without authority across functional teams to drive alignment and outcomes.\n\n\n\n\nWorking Conditions \u0026 Physical Requirements\n\n * Operates within cleanroom and laboratory settings, utilizing expertise in cleanroom protocols and adherence to safety standards.\n\n * Regular presence on the production floor to support execution, issue resolution, and team engagement.\n\n\n\n\nQualifications\n\n * Diploma or Bachelor\u2019s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.\n\n\n\n\nYears of Experience\n\n * 3\u20135 years in semiconductor manufacturing or R\u0026D operations, with prior people management experience preferred.\n\n\n\n\nWork Experience\n\n * Experience in wafer fabs, with strong exposure to lot management, forecasting, and execution control.\n\n * Prior Applied Materials environment or similar advanced semiconductor manufacturing experience is an advantage.\n\n\n\n\nWork Location:\n\n * Science Park II (Moving to Tampines in end 2026)\n\n\n\n\n## Qualifications\n\n### Education:\n\nBachelor\u0027s Degree\n\n### Skills\n\n### Certifications:\n\n### Languages:\n\n### Years of Experience:\n\n4 - 7 Years\n\n### Work Experience:\n\n## Additional Information\n\n### \n\n### Shift:\n\nDay (Singapore)\n\n### \n\n### Travel:\n\nYes, 10% of the Time\n\n### \n\n### Relocation Eligible:\n\nNo\n\n### Referral Payment Plan:\n\nEmployee Referral (Enhanced)\n\nApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
