Job Description - Manager, Product Development

This role sits within a dynamic product team and works closely with cross-functional stakeholders across customer insights, distribution, marketing and compliance.

The Role

1. Product Ideation & Proposition Development

Participate in cross-functional ideation squads to conceptualise and develop customer-centric product propositions.
Collaborate with Customer Insights and Research teams to conduct surveys, interviews and market validation exercises.
Test product concepts (including pricing strategy) with internal stakeholders and refine through iterative design.
Support preparation of presentation materials for senior management buy-in.

2. Product Approval & Governance

Assist in preparing business cases, including commercial justifications and objectives.
Prepare documentation required under the internal product approval framework.
Engage relevant stakeholders to secure timely approvals to meet launch timelines.

3. Product Delivery & Launch Preparation

Partner downstream stakeholders to ensure full understanding of product intent, positioning and implementation requirements.
Draft policy documents, product summaries and coordinate stakeholder sign-offs.
Prepare marketing briefs and collaborate with marketing teams to ensure strong customer-facing communication aligned to target segments.

4. Post-Launch Monitoring & Performance Tracking

Support timely extraction and analysis of sales data post-launch.
Monitor sales performance versus expectations and analyse customer segmentation trends.
Prepare management decks summarising performance insights and recommendations.
Maintain strong awareness of regulatory and compliance risks, proactively mitigating potential issues.

Requirements

Degree in Actuarial Science, Insurance, Finance, Marketing or related disciplines.
4-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in product development or product proposition roles within insurance or financial services.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to conceptualise ideas and translate insights into actionable propositions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong planning, organisation and project management capabilities.
Ability to work under tight timelines in a fast-paced environment.
High integrity, accountability and collaborative mindset.
Proactive, adaptable and improvement-oriented.
