Job Description - Manager/Assistant Director (FSSA/OMD)

[What the role is]

Purpose of Job

The candidate will be part of cross-divisional project teams that play a critical role in preparing, planning and enabling the implementation of the Food Safety and Security Act (FSSA).

The candidate is required to possess a keen interest for working with legislation, strong analytical capabilities and interpersonal effectiveness to coordinate and muster cross-divisional efforts to plan, obtain buy-in and see through operations implementation and the enactment of subsidiary legislation (SL) as the FSSA enters into force progressively.

[What you will be working on]

Scope/Duties:

1) Involved in drafting of FSSA subsidiary legislations drawing reference to existing food related legislations.   

2) Involved in the review and development of Concept of Operations (ConOps) for implementation of FSSA and SLs, including:

  • Integrating and transforming requirements from FSSA / SLs into future ConOps and Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Gather user requirements based on future ConOps and SOPs for IT system enhancements / development.

  • Plan and implement outsourced services contracts to support FSSA operationalisation.

  • Supporting project teams in secretariat duties, including coordination of meetings, collation of updates, tracking of timelines etc.

  • Any other responsibilities assigned to support the implementation of FSSA and its SLs.

The officer will report to Director of Operations Management & Development Department.

[What we are looking for]

Requirements:

  • Highly self-motivated, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesise complex information

  • Degree holder with a preference for candidates with relevant work experience in legislations implementation

  • Prior experience in legislative review, operational planning will be an advantage

  • Proficient in both written and oral communication, capable of conveying intricate concepts effectively 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with relevant experience in engaging relevant stakeholders within and outside organisation

  • Ability to work independently and as a team player within the Divisional / Departmental context
