[What the role is]

Introduction to Asia Pacific Sustainable Aviation Centre (APSAC)

Asia Pacific Sustainable Aviation Centre (APSAC) was set up by the CAAS as a Singapore-based regional centre with the mission to support Asia Pacific (APAC) countries to advance sustainable aviation through policy research, collaboration and capacity-building.

APSAC will:

(i)         Undertake policy research in areas such as cleaner aviation fuels, carbon accounting, and carbon market development & green financing.
(ii)        Facilitate collaboration across governments, industry and academia for joint studies and projects to harmonise and advance sustainable aviation policies and plans for APAC.
(iii)       Provide capability-building through technical assistance and training in areas of sustainable aviation policy development and implementation

[What you will be working on]

Role

We are looking for a Manager/Senior Manager, Partnership & Capacity-Building to support the Director of the department on capacity-building training programmes, partnership development, and on corporate communications.

The intent of capacity-building is to help our region build capabilities and competencies in sustainable aviation policy development and implementation, so that APAC States can develop sustainable aviation policies and implement them effectively to decarbonise the aviation sector.

The successful candidate will support the Department Head to assess APAC’s training needs for sustainable aviation, forge partnerships with other leading education institutions and curate relevant and progressive programmes. You will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation of the training programmes and execution of related activities in conjunction with the Singapore Aviation Academy. You must have strong organisational and administrative skills to implement capacity-building programmes.

You will also be directly involved in forging and strengthening APSAC’s partnership programme and supporting and executing corporate communications plans and initiatives via website, social media and other media channels.

Job Scope:

  • Support the Department Head to develop partnerships across APAC stakeholders among governments, industry and academia and collaboration for conducting capacity building training programmes based on the needs of States in the region.

  • Participate in planning, curating, and organising capacity-building training programmes, workshops and forums. This includes planning of training or workshop programme design, content and materials development, programme scheduling and liaising with trainers, speakers and other collaborators.

  • Support the development of capacity-building marketing materials including collaterals, websites and advertising and communication campaigns to drive enrolment in capacity-building programmes, as directed by Department Head.

  • Manage participants’ end-to-end participation from onboarding to post-programme facilitation.

  • Undertake administrative and logistics duties to ensure the smooth running of the programmes and a seamless experience for participants.

  • Participate in developing collaboration and partnership with various agencies and partners to expand APSAC training programme outreach and to strengthen APSAC training course curriculum and faculty.

  • Oversee the implementation of communications strategy including on social media, APSAC website, and coordinate media handling and engagements.

  • Participate in other APSAC activities as assigned by Department Head and/or CEO.

[What we are looking for]

Competencies / Requirements

  • At least 5 years of working experience, preferably in aviation industry or adult education management

  • Good knowledge in specialised topic(s) in aviation and/or sustainability, preferably with personal work experience in partnership development

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills

  • Good verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Working knowledge in managing social media, communications, and media engagement

  • Team player, self-motivated, results-oriented
