Job Description - Managing Director

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Managing Director to lead the overall business operations and strategic growth of our company, which specializes in office furniture solutions and office interior fit-out projects. The Managing Director will be responsible for driving business performance, strengthening client relationships, overseeing project delivery, and ensuring sustainable growth while maintaining close collaboration with our regional headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company's strategic plans to achieve business growth and profitability.
  • Lead and oversee the overall operations, including sales, project management, procurement, finance, and administration.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand the company's presence in the office furniture and commercial interior fit-out market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, architects, designers, contractors, suppliers, and business partners.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of office furniture supply and interior fit-out projects, ensuring quality, cost, and timeline objectives are achieved.
  • Monitor financial performance, prepare business plans, manage budgets, and ensure the company's profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Singapore laws, workplace safety regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop employees to foster a high-performance and collaborative work environment.
  • Work closely with the Japan headquarters to align corporate strategies, business objectives, product development, and operational initiatives.
  • Represent the company in business negotiations, industry events, and meetings with key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of senior management experience, preferably in the office furniture, interior fit-out, construction, or building materials industry.
  • Proven track record in business development, strategic planning, and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial office furniture, workplace solutions, or interior fit-out projects is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong financial and operational management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • Japanese language proficiency is preferred to facilitate communication and coordination with the Japan headquarters and Japanese-speaking stakeholders.
