JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reports to: Murata Manufacturing Co Ltd. (HQ in Japan) President

Functional relationships:

• MLCC Business Unit in Japan
• Battery Business Unit in Japan
• Sales and Marketing Business Unit in Japan
• Singapore Manufacturing Divisional General Managers and Manufacturing Divisional General Managers in oversea affiliates especially ASEAN and India

POSITION PROFILE:
This position is responsible for business management for MLCC and battery manufacturing in Singapore and sales and marketing in ASEAN countries and India.

MD must be experienced and a leader who can provide strong leadership and strategic vision to diverse businesses. Additionally, MD is required to collaborate with business unit general managers in HQs or factories in Japan and manufacturing plants overseas to produce value in our manufacturing, sales, and Marketing activities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• To make company policy to achieve business targets aligned with the company policy directed by HQ in Japan, as well as to meet customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction.
• Communicate closely with Japan HQ to grasp demand trends and business situations and to adjust policy and priorities as needed.
• To make business decisions that have large impact on society, customers, company profit, working environment, and so on.
• To keep a close network with internal stakeholders, other MLCC manufacturing and battery manufacturing departments, and so on, to optimize resources and improve business performance.
• To keep a close network with external stakeholders, such as government agencies, union representatives, educational institutions, etc.
• To develop leaders in the next generation.

Ability/Competency required:

• To hold a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree.
• At least 15 years of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry, with at least five years of managerial experience.
• Fluent business Japanese and English language skills are required to liaise with HQ and factories in Japan and local staff in Singapore or ASEAN countries.
• To have logical thinking and analytical skills with a wide viewpoint on management knowledge and experience.
• To have a strong mindset for change and improvement.
• To have a proactive attitude and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
