Marine Manager

1. The Marine Manager reports to Managing Director and in charge of the Marine

Department. The duties and responsibilities of the MM include, but not limited to the

following:

a. Monitors safe practices in ship operation and in the working environment;

b. Ensures that vessels comply with mandatory rules and regulations.

c. Client relationship (the primary point of contact with the Client for ship

operations matters, in ensuring that the assigned fleets meet their commercial

objectives and in compliance with their charter party obligations)

d. Interviewing and recruiting suitable crew for employment on ships / shore.

e. Briefs Masters and Chief Engineers in the implementation, maintenance and

requirements of the SMS;

f. Monitors and reviews performances of crewmembers and give

recommendations as appropriate;

g. Ensures that vessels are adequately equipped, safely manned and sufficiently

informed for the type of operations and voyages employed;

h. Plan and monitor internal vessel inspection and Oil Major/Terminal Inspection.

i. Planning and facilitating ships’ inspections;

j. Assists the MD in preparing the “casualty contingency plans”.

k. Liaise with 3rd party / oil major companies for any related to shipping matters.

l. Deploying and delegating duties to the people reporting directly to him.

m. Appointment, retention and development of Senior Officers

n. Marine Manager holds the role of Designated Person (DP) of the company

2. Holder of Master Mariner Class 1 or Class 2 COC or equivalent; or

3. Minimum 1-year experience as Manager or 3-year experience as Port

Captain/Marine Superintendent

4. Familiarity with ISM Code / ISPS & TMSA is a must.

5. Knowledge of Oil Majors / Class Societies / Statutory requirements.

6. Sea-going Oil/Chemical Tanker or similar shore-based experience is preferred.

7. Dynamic and able to work independently with minimum supervision.

8. Able to work irregular hours and travel within short notice
