Job Description The Marketing & Communications Manager, APAC is responsible for owning and delivering high quality, commercially focused marketing and communications execution across the region. The role leads the development and delivery of campaigns, broker events, internal communications and external positioning that strengthen market relevance, support growth priorities and ensure consistent messaging across APAC. Working closely with the Regional Strategy & Transformation Lead and the Canopius Marcomms Group function, the role translates strategic direction into clear narratives and practical execution, while building scalable marketing and communications capability aligned with Group brand, governance and reputational standards, and delivering measurable impact.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Strategy Planning
- Own and deliver marketing and communications strategy across APAC, ensuring alignment to Group and regional business priorities and consistent execution across markets.
- Translate agreed APAC priorities into clear messaging, campaigns and communications that support growth, relevance and engagement.
- Act as the primary point of accountability for marketing and communications delivery across the region.
Campaigns, Content & Go to Market Execution
- Translate underwriting, distribution and country strategies into clear narratives, messaging frameworks and annual marketing plans, in line with the Canopius brand.
- Develop and deliver integrated marketing campaigns supporting underwriting growth, distribution priorities and country initiatives.
- Create and oversee high quality content for marketing campaigns, social media (particularly LinkedIn), websites, presentations and go to market materials.
- Ensure all outputs are on brand, consistent with the Group, and commercially relevant to brokers and clients.
Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
- Own internal communications across APAC to ensure staff are informed, engaged and aligned with strategy and priorities.
- Coordinate APAC townhalls, including agenda setting, content development and leadership message alignment.
- Establish and maintain a regular internal communications cadence to support transparency, clarity and engagement.
- Work with HR, Operations and other stakeholders to support transformation, change initiatives and key internal communications.
- Work with Group Marcomms to ensure synergy with Group communications and messaging, ensuring company-wide narratives and initiatives are communicated at the regional level.
External Communications & Media Support
- Manage APAC external communications and media relations in coordination with Group MarComms and external agencies.
- Create and oversee high quality content for marketing campaigns, social media (particularly LinkedIn), presentations and go to market materials.
- Support senior leaders with briefing notes, speeches, key messages and media preparation, work alongside Group and external partners to manage media engagement.
- Increase APAC team's external visibility through a strong and consistent presence on LinkedIn and at relevant industry events, ensuring content and activity are aligned with business priorities and target audiences.
- Support market-facing teams with an APAC specific approach to social media and industry engagement, including content planning, thought leadership amplification and coordination of conference participation.
- Work closely with Underwriting, Distribution and Strategy to surface relevant insights, successes and perspectives for external sharing.
- Own and manage relationships with external vendors and agencies across APAC, including briefing, procurement coordination, budget control and delivery oversight.
Broker Events & Client Engagement
- Plan and deliver APAC broker and client events, including conferences, roadshows, receptions and targeted engagement sessions.
- Work closely with Distribution and Underwriting to ensure events are commercially focused, well targeted and aligned to priority brokers, clients and markets.
- Develop and maintain a standardised APAC 'Event Playbook', setting clear guidance on objectives, audience segmentation, messaging alignment, governance, budgeting and post event follow up.
- Design, implement and maintain a broker Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey framework in partnership with Distribution, using feedback to assess event effectiveness, broker experience and relationship quality, and to inform continuous improvement of engagement strategies.
- Ensure events consistently reflect the Canopius brand, APAC positioning and professional standards, while allowing flexibility for local market needs.
Performance Management & Capability Development
- Define, track and report marketing and communications KPIs, including campaign effectiveness, event outcomes, digital engagement and internal communications reach.
- Provide concise, insight driven reporting to senior stakeholders as required.
- Build scalable APAC marketing capability through playbooks, templates, tools and best practices.
- Manage regional agencies and external partners efficiently and promote the use of digital tools and AI enabled ways of working.
Brand, Governance & Risk
- Ensure all external communications reinforce APAC positioning, support brand credibility and remain consistent with Group narratives and standards.
- Ensure all APAC marketing and communications activity complies with Group brand, governance and reputational risk requirements.
- Apply Group guidelines and approval processes to enable timely delivery with appropriate control.
- Support crisis and incident communications where required.
And other ad hoc duties as required.
Qualifications Skills and Experience - Proven experience in marketing and/or communications within a B2B environment, such as professional services, financial services or insurance.
- Demonstrated experience delivering integrated campaigns, events and communications across multiple channels.
- Experience supporting internal communications, including townhalls, leadership messaging and regular staff updates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, practical messages.
- Commercially minded, highly organised and delivery-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and coordinating across Group teams and external agencies.
- Strong digital capability and confidence using channels such as LinkedIn, web and internal platforms to increase visibility and engagement.
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
