Job Description - Membership Consultant

The Membership Consultant for SUMHIIT Fitness is responsible for driving membership sales and ensuring member retention through proactive and engaging phone interactions. Reporting to the Studio Manager, this role is crucial in promoting the SUMHIIT brand, enhancing member satisfaction, and achieving sales and retention targets. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, sales-driven, and passionate about fitness.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Membership Growth:

  • Conduct outbound calls to potential members to promote SUMHIIT Fitness memberships and benefits.
  • Follow up on leads generated through marketing campaigns, events, and referrals to convert them into SUMHIIT Fitness members.
  • Build rapport with prospective members to identify their needs and offer trials on how SUMHIIT Fitness can help them achieve their health and fitness goals.

Member Retention:

  • Engage with current members to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Conduct retention calls to re-engage at-risk members and prevent cancellations.
  • Remain actively engaged with new and existing members to seek membership referrals.

Customer Service:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service during all interactions, ensuring a positive and professional experience for members and prospects.
  • Resolve member inquiries and issues efficiently and effectively, maintaining a high level of satisfaction.
  • Document member interactions and follow up as necessary to ensure all concerns are addressed.

Data Management:

  • Utilize CRM systems to track and manage member information, sales activities, and retention efforts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales and retention activities.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in sales and retention strategies.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Studio Manager and the sales and marketing teams to align strategies and achieve common goals.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of sales and retention initiatives.
  • Share feedback and insights to enhance overall performance and member experience.
  • Work as a team to successfully exceed the membership sales targets and retention.

Training and Development:

  • Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay updated on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service best practices.
  • Continuously develop skills to improve sales and retention performance.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, or a call center environment is highly desirable, particularly in the fitness industry.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Persuasive and confident in making sales pitches and handling objections.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and other sales-related software.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office applications.

  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a strong drive to achieve sales and retention targets.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
