Microbiologist

Job Summary

Assist in microbiology and molecular research by performing microbiology testing, microbial culture maintenance, and fermentation processes. Apply advanced microbial culturing and analytical techniques to support research objectives with flexibility in lab testing hours.

Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiology testing of food and environmental samples to ensure accurate research data
• Maintain microbial cultures to support ongoing experiments and research integrity
• Perform fermentation processes to develop and optimize microbial applications
• Assist in microbiology-based research as the primary focus and molecular research as secondary support
• Apply advanced microbial culturing, fermentation, and media formulation skills to enhance research outcomes
• Utilize qPCR and spectrophotometry techniques to analyze microbial samples and generate reliable results
• Apply biostatistics knowledge to analyze research data and support scientific conclusions
• Demonstrate good scientific writing skills to document research findings clearly and accurately
• Exhibit strong pipetting skills and attention to detail to maintain experimental precision
• Work independently as a self-starter, managing tasks and lab testing with flexible hours

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor of Science in Life Science or related science course (essential educational background)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in microbiology research (critical for effective performance)

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Knowledge of biostatistics and data analysis to support research interpretation
• Good scientific writing skills for clear documentation of research results
• Detail-oriented approach and good pipetting skills to ensure experimental accuracy
