Job Description - Modelling Actuary

Actuarial Modeller

Our organization specialises in delivering innovative actuarial solutions within the insurance and financial services sectors. We foster a collaborative and professional environment that values technical expertise and client-oriented problem solving. We are looking for a skilled Actuarial Modeller to join our team and contribute to modelling projects that support pricing, valuation, reserving, and capital assessments. This role is vital in ensuring the development of robust and regulatory-compliant models that meet both client and internal needs.

Role Overview:

You will be responsible for building, testing, and maintaining actuarial models across various functions, collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. You will also support model validation, documentation, and process improvements, playing a key role in ensuring modelling excellence and regulatory compliance.

Key Skills & Experience:

• 2–6 years of actuarial experience, ideally in valuation (life insurance preferred)
• Strong technical foundation in actuarial modelling (e.g., Prophet, AXIS, Pathwise, or similar)
• Exposure to valuation, pricing, IFRS17, or capital/reporting processes
• Familiarity with regulatory environments (Singapore or regional markets) is advantageous
• Strong communication skills with an interest in client interaction and advisory work

Key Responsibilities:

• Support model development, validation, and testing for pricing, valuation, reserving, and other actuarial functions
• Translate product features and technical specifications into model logic and assumptions
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand needs and propose solutions
• Assist with deploying models and ensuring their integration into client environments
• Develop expertise in the organisation’s modelling platform, providing ongoing support and training
• Ensure models adhere to internal governance and regulatory standards, including documentation and change management
• Support reporting activities, sensitivities analysis, and model oversight processes

Requirements:

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field
• Progress towards or completion of actuarial qualifications (e.g., IFoA or equivalent)
• Proven experience with actuarial modelling software (e.g., Prophet, AXIS, RAFM, Moses, or similar)
• Programming and data skills (e.g., VBA, SQL, Python, R) with confidence working with large datasets
• Solid understanding of actuarial concepts, assumptions, and model governance processes
• Excellent documentation skills with the ability to communicate technical info clearly

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to IFRS 17, solvency frameworks, or economic scenario generation
• Experience with model optimisation and automation

This position is based on site in Singapore with a hybrid working environment. Candidates should be adaptable to working on-site as needed. Interested candidates are invited to submit their CV, highlighting relevant modelling experience and exam progress.
