Job Description - NTI Equipment Development Engineer, Real-Time Defect Analysis (RDA)

The goal of this position is to accelerate cycles of learning and technology transfer in Technology Development. We need engineers who are passionate about detecting problems and eager to make changes for the better. \n \nYou will have the opportunity to learn defect detection equipment applications and also use data analysis skills to identify and solve process issues. This position will provide the opportunity for you to collaborate with engineers in process integration, process development, data science, and yield analysis within and outside Technology Development. As a Technology Development RDA engineer, your ideas will have the ability to impact the team globally. You will be responsible to support experimentation, data analysis, baseline health metrics, and systematic and random defect improvement through partnering with others in Research and Development and High Volume Manufacturing.\n\n * Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities.\n\n * Recipe Management: Write or modify equipment recipes to support the needs of the RDA area.\n\n * Tool Recovery: Perform basic and advanced recoveries of down tools for assigned workstations.\n\n * Software Upgrades: Drive software upgrades and improvements, working with internal and external vendors for implementation.\n\n * Tool Monitoring: Monitor tool qualification SPC charts for deviations, initiate tool repairs, and adjust limits as necessary.\n\n * Data Science skills: Apply scripting, coding, or programming for monitoring performance and capabilities of the inspection data\n\n * Data Analysis: Collect and analyze tool/process data to suggest ways to improve performance and efficiency.\n\n * Training and Mentoring: Proven experience in training and mentoring engineers and technicians.\n\n * Collaboration: Collaborate with vendors for escalation results on application issues and with Equipment Owners to identify long-term solutions to tool issues.\n\n * Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective vendor and team interactions.\n\n * Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.\n\n\n\n\nJob Requirements:\n\n * Application Expertise: \n\n * Interest in tools X-ray inspection technology (XRD), Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (SAM) and strong proficiency in SEM imaging and interpretation for systematic/random defect identification\n\n * Technical Expertise: Inspection recipe writing applications experience with RDA related inspection tools such as DF/BF/CIRCL/SEM/XRD/SAM, etc\n\n * Equipment Management: Set up RDA related equipment, monitor stability, improve capability, and interact with vendor representatives for advanced functionality and application work.\n\n * Vendor Relations: Experience working with RDA inspection tool vendors for equipment inspection recipes setup, troubleshooting, and upgrades\n\n * Education: Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u0027s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science \u0026 Engineering, or related field accepted.\n\n * Experience: 3+ years of NAND semiconductor manufacturing in RDA applications for inspection recipe setup experience is preferred.\n\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nSemiconductor Process Engineer 2\n\nRelocation level: (TBD)\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs.
