Nurse Manager - with Growth Opportunities

Location: Tampines Care Home

The Nurse Manager plans, implements and evaluates resident care related activities to deliver quality resident care. Coordinates and plans staffing schedules and needs. Promotes teamwork and harmonious relationship among the staffs. Plans and executes capital, operational and training budgets. Plans and participates in emergency plans.

Management and Administration

• Facilitates positive change management for smooth adoption of new technologies, productivity initiatives, processes and procedures
• Implements new or emerging competencies to support role, job redesign or nurse-led initiatives for healthcare transformation and changing demographics
• Implements action plans to effect improvements in residents’ care
• Facilitates resolution of inter-personal and interdisciplinary conflicts and grievances
• Resolves issues related to care, coordination and service lapses
• Manages manpower resources for optimal residents’ care outcomes through effective scheduling, skills mix and staffing assignments
• Conducts regular work performance appraisals of nurses and staff to support their professional development required for high performing organisation
• Provides coaching/ preceptorship resources for staff and talent development
• Promotes optimal organisational hygiene for best staff retention and performance outputs
• Oversees budget and resources utilisation

Clinical

• Monitors outcomes of complex resident's care plan and provides recommendation on clinical management and intervention as indicted
• Enforces compliance to clinical standards of care and professional code of conduct
• Manages care of residents with complex clinical conditions
• Oversees the delivery of residents’ education and caregiving training
• Supervises medical emergency or crisis situations
• Maintains an open and just culture that promotes residents’ safety and incident reporting
• Implements continuous quality improvement and residents’ safety measures or initiatives to improve residents’ care
• Identifies and implements new programmes for the residents and special projects to meet any service gaps
• Analyses trends and changing needs of the residents in institutional settings. Plans nursing care based on changing trend.
• Ensures service quality standard and cost-effective service are maintained and enhanced, where necessary.
• Ensures quality audits are planned and conducted periodically.

Training and Development

• Collaborates with multi-professional stakeholders to execute training plans
• Implements improvement plans following quality reviews and audit findings
• Communicates nursing and organisational career development and pathways for nurses and staff
• Identifies and facilitates nursing staff’s training development.

Job Requirements:

• At least 5 years of nursing experience, preferably with multi ward-based experience
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing, preferably with post graduate qualification
• Registered with Singapore Nursing Board
• Prior experience in a managerial or supervisory role in a similar work environment
• Ability to handle/ resolve operational issues at ground level.
• Demonstrates good communications and people engagement skills
• Able to form networks and strong linkages with stakeholders
• Prior training experience would be an advantage
