Operations Officer

The position offers the opportunity to take on independent responsibility and make a strong impact on the overall performance of the company.

Job Responsibilities:

· Ensure high service levels are delivered for all ships where GT is appointed as the shipping agent.

· Assist with Husbandry arrangements, crew changes and other coordination tasks while meeting the tight deadlines.

· Work closely with the other team members within operations / accounts to deliver strong results.

· Coordinate with ICA/MPA/Ship Owners and other statutory bodies as required to perform the various ship husbanding tasks.

· Effective communication with various stakeholders during ongoing operations

· Identify, investigate, and analyze potential operational improvement. As appropriate, based on findings make proposal for operational changes (policy, procedures, processes, etc.).

 Minimum 2 years relevant experience in shipping/logistics/transportation industry.

· Detail Oriented with strong organization skills.

· Monitor e-mails / phone calls over the weekends / night as shipping is a 24X7 industry.

· Knowledge of dealing with statutory government organizations like ICA/MPA is preferred.

· Knowledge of local Terminal Operators PSA/Jurong Port/Keppel/Sembawang for owners and commercial liaison is preferred.

· Ability and willingness to take on independent responsibility.
