In this role, you will work closely with engineering, platform, and support teams to monitor system health, resolve operational issues, and perform regular maintenance activities to ensure high availability and service quality.

You will be involved in supporting systems operating in highly regulated and security-sensitive environments, where strong operational discipline, documentation, and adherence to change processes are essential. This role is well-suited for engineers who enjoy hands-on operations work, problem solving, and maintaining the stability of complex systems in production.

Candidates with experience supporting public sector or regulated environments will be advantageous, as this role contributes to large-scale IT initiatives with strict governance and operational requirements.

Responsibility:

EDR Platform Operations

  • Operate and maintain Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) platforms (e.g. Carbon Black or equivalent)
  • Perform server-side maintenance including application health checks, patching, service restarts, and upgrades
  • Monitor EDR server components and ensure sensor connectivity and stability
  • Troubleshoot EDR sensor and server issues, including offline sensors, communication failures, and agent recovery

Linux/Server Admin

  • Administer RHEL / Linux servers supporting security platforms
  • Perform OS patching, backups, restoration, and system hardening
  • Review system, application, and security logs not forwarded to central logging platforms
  • Support certificate management and service dependencies

Security Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure systems comply with security hardening standards and operational guidelines
  • Track vulnerabilities and implement remediation within defined timelines
  • Support security investigations and audits by retrieving logs, reports, and system evidence
  • Maintain access controls and perform periodic user access reviews

Operations Governance & Documentation

  • Execute maintenance under approved change management processes
  • Produce regular operational and maintenance reports
  • Maintain SOPs, asset inventories, configuration documentation, and troubleshooting guides
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for issue resolution

Must Have

  • Typically 4–7 years of relevant experience in operations support and security platforms
  • Hands-on experience supporting EDR platforms (Carbon Black preferred, equivalent acceptable)
  • Strong Linux / RHEL system administration experience
  • Experience performing patching, backups, and system maintenance in production environments
  • Exposure to security operations, incident handling, or regulated environments
  • Comfortable working onsite in secure premises and restricted environments
  • Strong documentation discipline and operational mindset

Good to Have:

  • Experience working in government, regulated, or critical infrastructure environments
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Solr, or backend services supporting security platforms
  • Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, TLS, firewalls, proxies)
  • Exposure to log forwarding / SIEM integration (e.g. Splunk, NXLog)
  • Knowledge of security hardening benchmarks (e.g. CIS)
  • Familiarity with air-gapped or restricted networks
  • Experience supporting vulnerability remediation activities
  • Certifications such as RHCSA / RHCE, or security platform certifications
  • Formal training or certification related to VMware Carbon Black EDR or equivalent endpoint security platforms
