Job Purpose

The Packing Technician is responsible for performing safe, accurate, and compliant packing of aircraft engines and engine modules to ensure protection during storage and transportation. This role supports on-time delivery by ensuring packing activities meet quality, safety, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Packing & Handling

• Perform packing of aircraft engines, engine modules, and accessories according to approved work instructions, packing specifications, and customer requirements.

• Carry out engine preservation activities (e.g. desiccant installation, humidity indicators, protective wrapping) as required.

• Prepare packing materials such as crates, skids, cushioning, and protective covers.

• Ensure proper securing, bracing, and protection of engines to prevent damage during handling and shipment.

Quality & Compliance

• Verify packing documentation, packing lists, and identification labels are accurate and complete.

• Ensure packed engines comply with safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.

• Report any packing non-conformities, damage, or missing items to the supervisor immediately.

• Support internal and external audits by adhering to quality and packing standards.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Follow all safety procedures when handling engines, lifting equipment, and packing tools.

• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

• Maintain good housekeeping standards in the packing area (5S).

• Identify and report unsafe conditions or near misses.

Coordination & Support

• Coordinate with Planning, Operations, Quality, and Logistics teams to meet shipment schedules.

• Support loading and unloading activities using approved lifting and handling equipment.

• Assist in inventory control of packing materials and report shortages.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

• NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, or related field (preferred).

• Experience in packing, logistics, warehouse, or MRO environment is an advantage.

• Experience handling large components or engines is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and packing specifications.

• Basic knowledge of engine handling, preservation, and packing methods.

• Good attention to detail and quality mindset.

• Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.

• Team player with good communication skills.

Other Requirements

• Willingness to work shifts or overtime when required to meet shipment deadlines.

• Able to work in a regulated environment with strict safety and quality requirements.

• On-time completion of packing activities.

• Zero packing-related damage or quality escapes.

• Compliance with safety and quality standards.

• Housekeeping and 5S adherence.
