PASTORAL CARE COORDINATOR

salary Salary :

$3,500 - 4,000 monthly

Job Description - PASTORAL CARE COORDINATOR

Pastoral Care Ministry

1.      Respond to pastoral care enquiries with compassion, sensitivity and professionalism. 

2.      Coordinate bereavement support and funeral arrangements with families, pastoral staff and relevant ministries. 

3.      Manage the Pastoral Care hotline and ensure enquiries are attended to promptly. 

4.      Make pastoral care phone calls and provide appropriate follow-up to members and families. 

5.      Accompany the Pastoral Team Executive – Pastoral Care on hospital, home and other pastoral care visits. 

6.      Provide practical support during pastoral care visits and assist with follow-up actions.

7.      Maintain accurate and confidential pastoral care records.

Administration

1.      Provide administrative support for the pastoral care ministry, including scheduling, correspondence, document management and record keeping. 

2.      Prepare reports, meeting materials and ministry resources. 

3.      Maintain databases and ministry records.

Ministry Support

1.      Coordinate the administration of Baptism and Membership classes twice yearly. 

2.      Support Missions administration, including applications, reports and logistics. 

3.      Assist the pastoral team with ministry events and projects. 

4.      Undertake other duties as assigned by the Pastor-in-Charge.

Requirements

1.      A genuine heart for pastoral care and a desire to journey with people through life's joys and challenges.

2.      Compassionate, emotionally mature and able to relate well to people from diverse backgrounds. 

3.      Comfortable engaging individuals experiencing illness, grief, crisis or difficult life situations. 

4.      Able to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality. 

5.      Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail. 

6.      Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

7.      Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. 

8.      Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff and volunteers. 

9.      Diploma or Degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. 

10.   Previous experience in church ministry, pastoral care, healthcare, counselling support, social services or non-profit organisations would be an advantage.
