Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner using payroll software (i.e. Whyze).
• Review and verify timekeeping records for accuracy and completeness, and resolve any discrepancies as needed.
• Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes withholdings, benefits and other relevant incentives.
• Reconcile payroll data and prepare relevant reports for management as needed.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and tax withholdings in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist with payroll-related audits and investigations as necessary.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate employee data and seamless payroll processing.

Prerequisites

• Minimum 5 years of relevant payroll specialist experience, IHRP CA certified candidates preferred.
• Diploma in Business Management or its equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of Employment Act and WICA.
• Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel).
• Strong understanding of payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
