Position Title: Planner
Job Responsibilities
- To schedule production and/or procure externally sourced materials in accordance with prevailing confirmed customer demand, ensuring material availability at finished goods warehouse.
- Day to day planning skills to keep track of, and prioritize process orders and/or purchase orders.
- Extensive planning and organizational skills to meet and satisfy customer demand over extended periods of time.
- To make scheduling and/or procurement decisions that will impact customer orders and company stocking policies.
- Day to day planning skills to ensure that raw materials, packaging will be available in time to meet production requirements.
- To continually devise improvements to systems to improve efficiency and the speed of delivery of information from the department.
- Communicate and support the QC department regarding possible material for rework and production and/or procurement changes.
- To attend and play a key role in contributing planning issues in daily and weekly meetings, providing key information in meetings to improve the efficiency and running of the plants and/or procurement process.
- Continually review the production schedule to ensure all forward demands are being met and take appropriate action to add, move or cancel production and/or purchases to minimize working capital.
- Investigate and respond to customer complaints.
- Using MRP review proposed output and make decisions on the viability of turning planned order and/or purchase requisition requirements into firm process orders and/or purchase orders.
- Ensure product compatibility is maintained
- Respond in a timely manner to Escalations taking action to schedule new production if required.
- Effectively communicate the production schedule and any issues arising from it to production, customer service, sales, and manager.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of site manufacturing, processes and products.
- More than 2 years of planning experience in manufacturing environment with SAP systems
- Candidates with more than 5 years of experience will be considered for a senior role
- Experience in using Epicor system will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of SAP processes in the Sales & Distribution and Production Planning modules.
- Competent user of MS Office packages.
- Ability to complete tasks to tight deadlines
- Good knowledge of Excel
- Excellent communication and writing skills. Must have written and oral proficiency in the English language.
