Job Description - Planning Manager

Position: Planning Manager
Location: Singapore
Role: Project Head – Construction

Position Overview
The Planning Manager will be responsible for leading project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities for large -scale construction projects. This role ensures that project timelines, resources, and milestones are effectively managed to achieve successful project delivery. The Planning Manager will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure that construction activities are executed according to the approved schedules and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules covering all phases of construction activities.

  • Establish project timelines, milestones, and critical path activities.

  • Coordinate with project managers and site teams to align planning activities with project goals.

  • Ensure that schedules are updated regularly to reflect project progress and changes.

Resource Planning & Allocation

  • Plan and allocate manpower, materials, and equipment effectively for project execution.

  • Monitor resource utilization to ensure optimal productivity and cost efficiency.

  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of project resources.

Project Monitoring & Progress Control

  • Track project progress against baseline schedules and identify potential delays.

  • Prepare regular progress reports and dashboards for management and stakeholders.

  • Recommend corrective actions when deviations from project timelines occur.

  • Support project teams in maintaining productivity and meeting deadlines.

Risk Management

  • Identify project risks related to scheduling, resources, and execution.

  • Develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and disruptions.

  • Conduct risk analysis and support decision -making to ensure project continuity.

Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with project managers, engineering teams, consultants, contractors, and clients.

  • Facilitate coordination meetings to review project progress and planning updates.

  • Ensure clear communication of project timelines, changes, and milestones across teams.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain project planning documentation including schedules, reports, and risk assessments.

  • Ensure project planning activities comply with company standards and industry regulations.

  • Support audits and project reviews by providing accurate planning records.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related engineering discipline.

  • Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 are mandatory.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction project planning and management.

Required Skills

  • Strong expertise in construction project scheduling and planning methodologies.

  • Proficiency in project management and planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

  • Excellent analytical and problem -solving abilities.

  • Strong leadership and coordination skills for managing cross -functional project teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple project timelines simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
