The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to collaborative projects on shape-morphing materials and applications to adaptive aeronautics.
Key Responsibilities:
Development of novel designs and mechanisms for shape-morphing structures
Development of models for sensing and control in shape-morphing systems
Experimental implementation of designs
Engaging in scientific exchange with collaboration partners of the project
Preparing reports, scientific papers, and presentations
Job Requirements:
PhD in mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field
Research experience on shape-morphing structures, mechanical metamaterials, or computational mechanics
Evidence of potential for excellence in research
Excellent written and oral communication skills
