Principal Architect / Planner

Role Summary

The Principal Architect / Planner is responsible for leading the planning, design, and execution of architectural projects and master planning initiatives. The role provides strategic design leadership, ensuring projects achieve excellence in functionality, aesthetics and sustainability while complying with regulatory requirements and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage master planning, urban design, and architecture projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects aligned with schedules, budgets, resource requirements and deliverables
• Oversee concept development, schematic design, design development and construction documentation
• Drive design innovation and serves as a key advisor on architectural planning, urban design, and development strategies across multiple projects
• Review and approve design concepts, proposals, reports, drawings, and technical documentation
• Ensure compliance with local planning regulations, building codes, environmental standards, and industry best practices
• Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to deliver integrated, high-quality design solutions.
• Lead, mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance design culture
• Provide technical guidance to project teams
• Support resource planning and capability development
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor or Master in Architecture or a related discipline
• Minimum 10 - 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
• Registered Architect or equivalent professional accreditation is preferred
• Proven experience in delivering large-scale, complex projects
• Strong background in design management, master planning, and stakeholder engagement
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
