Job Description

This is a hands-on, site-based role working closely with the Project, Commissioning, Operations, and EHS teams to ensure safe startup and operational readiness.

Role

• Support commissioning and startup activities from a Process Safety / EHS perspective.


• Participate in and support Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).


• Conduct field safety inspections and plant walkdowns to verify startup readiness.


• Verify closure of safety action items, including HAZOP, LOPA and Management of Change (MOC) actions.


• Ensure Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements are met prior to introducing hazardous chemicals.


• Support mechanical completion verification and startup readiness activities.


• Review and verify Permit-to-Work (PTW), LOTO, operating procedures and safety documentation.


• Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Construction and Commissioning teams to identify and resolve process safety issues.


• Promote a strong safety culture throughout commissioning and startup.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Safety Engineering or a related discipline.


• Experience supporting commissioning and startup activities in the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, API, LNG or process manufacturing industry.


• Hands-on experience participating in Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).


• Good understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles.


• Experience with HAZOP, LOPA, MOC and risk assessments is highly preferred.


• Familiarity with Permit-to-Work (PTW), LOTO, mechanical completion and field verification activities.


• Able to work on site in Singapore for the duration of the project.
