Procurement Engineer (Semicon, NPI) - Competitive Pay

The Opportunity:

Our client is a leading Hong Kong multinational corporation, specializing in the semiconductor industry, particularly for the wire bonding equipment business unit. We are currently seeking a Procurement Engineer to be responsible for supporting the NPI procurement - sourcing and selection of components in Mechatronics/PCBA/Cables/E&E modules, product cost optimization, and direct supplier coordination and communications.

The Job:

• Offer cost estimates for Mechatronics, PCBA, Cables, and E&E modules.
• Assist R&D in component selection and sourcing, including providing recommendations on potential new technologies.
• Supervise procurement processes and oversee resource management and activities to ensure adherence to quality, cost, and delivery requirements in NPI projects.
• Assist in optimizing product costs through effective procurement management in key areas, including strategies, supplier selections, inquiries, negotiations, and cost calculations analysis.
• Coordinate between internal and external stakeholders and selected suppliers to facilitate the exchange of essential technical information, including drawings, data sheets, STEP files, ensuring alignment in costing and delivered materials.
• Provide suggestion for advancement of material status through stages from manufacturing freeze to series production.
• Coordinate design-to-cost (DTC) or cost reduction processes through structural cost analyses.
• Assist Advanced Purchasers/Operative Purchasers in handling escalations during material orders, deliveries, and complex engineering changes. This involves direct coordination and communication with suppliers.
• Transfer knowledge to commodity managers regarding materials transitioning from the prototype to the production stage.
• Complete tasks assigned by the managers.

The Talent:

• Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in R&D/OEM/Contract Manufacturer will be highly advantageous.
• Proficient in BOM/Costing/Engineering analysis.
• Min. 3-5 years of relevant experiences.
