Project Environmental Lead

Wood is currently actively recruiting for an Environmental Lead to support the delivery of Wood’s environmental strategy and HSSE policy obligations on an upcoming project.    The project is the detailed design phase of a new 'not normally manned' (NNM) oil platform off the coast of Western Australia.  The position will be based in our clients Singapore office and reports to the Operations Manager - Asset Performance Optimisation.

Our ideal candidate will assist and support good governance in the management of environmental risk and opportunities, ensuring that operations maintain environmental licence to operate and maintain environmental credentials to support the clients in the jurisdictions in which they operate.

Additionally you will be responsible for the implementation of Wood’s environmental standards and provide technical environmental services across a broad range of environmental management issues.  Other accountabilities of the role can be found listed below

• collaborate to achieve the highest standards of environmental stewardship, building an exemplary environmental reputation for Wood with our client and other key stakeholders
• support the implementation of Wood’s environmental strategy and approach to environmental management including the implementation environmental standards
• make certain a plan in place ensuring environmental aspects are appropriately managed and that the Client's and Wood’s HSSE policy obligations are enacted
• identify, understand and communicate the legal, industrial and contractual environmental obligations appropriate to the project and ensure that key environmental aspects / impacts are identified on the environmental risk register
• ensure the environmental management aspects / impacts are subject to appropriate assurance processes and due diligence
• manage resources to ensure effective environmental risk mitigation and effective support to the project, including effective tools, training and processes needed to manage environmental issues effectively
• Communicate environmental key performance indicators, trends, issues and alerts to the client and Wood's internal environmental management and central support teams

• Ideally you will have 10+ years of recent relevant experience in an environmental position including practical experience and an ability to influence at all levels
• Demonstrate a depth knowledge of environmental compliance in highly regulated environments
• Client focused with good relationship building skills
• Highly motivated, self-sufficient individual who also enjoys working as part of a supportive team
• High level of English literacy, report writing skills, and computer proficiency
• Enjoy working in a collaborative environment
