About the Role
We are an established interior design, renovation, and carpentry company with our own carpentry production facility in Changi. We are looking for a capable and experienced Project Manager to manage residential and commercial renovation projects from initial site preparation through to final handover.
This role is suitable for someone who is hands-on, organised, decisive, and able to coordinate multiple parties effectively. You will work closely with clients, interior designers, carpentry production teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and site workers to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to the required quality standards.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining project quality, improving site efficiency, resolving operational issues, and ensuring a smooth customer experience throughout the renovation process.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Management
- Manage interior renovation, fit-out, and carpentry projects from project confirmation to completion and handover.
- Review project scope, quotations, drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements before commencement.
- Prepare detailed project schedules, work programmes, manpower plans, and site coordination timelines.
- Plan the correct sequence of works, including demolition, masonry, electrical, plumbing, ceiling, painting, flooring, glass, carpentry, and final installation works.
- Set project milestones and ensure all parties understand the expected timelines and deliverables.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining proper documentation and project visibility.
- Monitor project progress closely and take corrective action when delays, quality issues, or coordination problems arise.
Site Coordination and Supervision
- Conduct site inspections, measurements, meetings, and progress reviews.
- Coordinate daily site activities with subcontractors, suppliers, installers, and internal teams.
- Ensure workers and subcontractors follow approved drawings, work schedules, site instructions, and safety procedures.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure all works meet the company’s quality standards and client expectations.
- Identify site constraints, technical conflicts, and construction issues before they affect the project timeline.
- Provide practical and cost-effective solutions to site problems.
- Ensure proper site protection, housekeeping, material storage, and damage prevention.
- Coordinate access arrangements, loading and unloading, deliveries, installation schedules, and disposal works.
- Check completed works before requesting client inspection or proceeding to the next stage.
Carpentry Production Coordination
- Coordinate closely with the carpentry factory, designers, drafters, and installation teams.
- Verify site measurements before carpentry production begins.
- Check carpentry drawings, dimensions, materials, finishes, colours, hardware, and special requirements.
- Ensure confirmed drawings and material selections are submitted to production on time.
- Monitor carpentry production progress and coordinate delivery and installation schedules.
- Ensure carpentry items are properly inspected before installation.
- Manage installation issues, missing items, defects, modifications, and rectification works.
- Reduce mistakes, delays, material wastage, and repeated site visits through proper planning and checking.
Client and Stakeholder Management
- Act as the main point of contact for clients during the renovation and construction stage.
- Provide clear and professional progress updates to clients and management.
- Attend project meetings, site meetings, consultant meetings, and client inspections.
- Manage client expectations regarding timelines, site conditions, variations, and rectification works.
- Explain technical issues clearly and propose suitable solutions.
- Coordinate with interior designers to ensure the final works follow the approved design intent.
- Liaise with consultants, building management, landlords, management corporations, and relevant authorities where required.
- Maintain a professional relationship with clients and handle concerns in a calm and solution-focused manner.
Cost and Budget Control
- Monitor project budgets, labour costs, material usage, subcontractor costs, and operational expenses.
- Check subcontractor quotations, purchase requirements, and supplier orders.
- Identify potential cost overruns and inform management early.
- Track variation works and ensure additional works are documented and approved before commencement.
- Assist in preparing variation orders, progress claims, subcontractor claims, and final account documentation.
- Prevent unnecessary rework, material wastage, and unapproved additional costs.
- Ensure purchases and site expenses are properly recorded and supported by documentation.
Quality Control and Handover
- Conduct quality inspections at each major project stage.
- Ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, material selections, and workmanship standards.
- Prepare defect lists and coordinate rectification works promptly.
- Conduct internal inspections before arranging client handover.
- Ensure all outstanding works, touch-ups, cleaning, testing, and rectification items are completed.
- Coordinate final handover, documentation, warranties, and project close-out.
- Follow up on post-handover defects during the warranty or defects-liability period.
- Maintain proper records of completed works, site photographs, instructions, variations, and client approvals.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure projects comply with workplace safety requirements and company site procedures.
- Conduct basic safety checks and ensure workers use the required personal protective equipment.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, damages, or serious site issues immediately.
- Ensure subcontractors and workers comply with building management and site-specific rules.
- Coordinate work permits, access passes, renovation permits, and relevant submission requirements where applicable.
- Maintain proper project and site documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
Reporting and Administration
- Prepare daily or weekly project progress reports.
- Maintain updated project schedules, site photographs, work records, and defect lists.
- Record important client instructions, site decisions, and approved changes.
- Update management on project risks, delays, cost concerns, and unresolved issues.
- Ensure project documents are properly organised and available for reference.
- Assist management in improving project workflows, standard operating procedures, and site coordination systems.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline is preferred.
- At least 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in interior renovation, fit-out, construction, or carpentry project management.
- Candidates with strong practical experience but without formal qualifications may also be considered.
- Good understanding of renovation work sequences and site coordination.
- Experience in residential, commercial, retail, office, F&B, or landed-property renovation projects is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of carpentry fabrication, installation, materials, finishes, hardware, and detailing is highly preferred.
- Able to read and understand floor plans, elevation drawings, electrical plans, reflected ceiling plans, and carpentry detailed drawings.
- Able to identify drawing discrepancies and site coordination issues.
- Strong planning, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage workers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients professionally.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Responsible, organised, detail-oriented, and able to perform under pressure.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin, Malay, or other languages will be an advantage when coordinating with clients and workers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, WhatsApp, Google Drive, and basic project scheduling or reporting tools.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, or project-management software is an advantage but not compulsory.
- Possession of a valid Singapore Class 3 driving licence is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Singapore renovation, building management, HDB, condominium, commercial, and workplace safety requirements is preferred.

Working Location
Office and carpentry factory based in Changi, Singapore.
The candidate will also be required to travel to different project sites across Singapore.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm (creative scheduling)
Saturday, evening, or after-hours coordination may occasionally be required depending on project deadlines, deliveries, installations, or site restrictions.
