The Community Psychology Hub (CPH) is dedicated to improving people’s lives through innovative, quality psychological and research services. We work in active collaboration with partners in the social service and public sector to provide care for persons with vulnerabilities alongside their families in the community.
This full-time position is for the role of a psychologist working with adults with developmental disabilities and other special needs in the Adult Disability setting, specifically the Day Activity Centre (tier 3cases). This role aims to provide psychological services to individual clients presenting with behavioural issues and/ or mental health concerns, and professional consultation to the staff and caregivers who support our clients. You will be working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team within the social service agency (SSA).
Responsibilities
1. Conduct Psychological Assessments
Conduct various psychological assessments to facilitate vocational, educational and other placements
Conduct various psychological assessments including intake/initial assessments as part of routine implementation and progress monitoring
Prepare assessment reports
2. Deliver Intervention
Provide holistic frontline support as part of the multi-disciplinary/ transdisciplinary team to support individuals with complex needs and their families
Participate in transition-planning, case management, routine care-planning and meetings as part of the multi-disciplinary team
Working with SSA staff, allied health professionals and caregivers to better support needs through professional consultation and case discussions
3. Build stakeholder relationships or capacity
Design and implement programmes and interventions catered to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs, inclusive of Positive Behaviour Support and other systemic supports
Create and support training to help equip staff and caregivers in relevant areas for supporting clients in SSA and community settings.
Provide evidence-based input for program/policy improvements
4. Uplift professional practice in psychology
Provide consultation to other allied health professionals
Assist in the delivery of training (clinical seminars, clinical workshops) for psychologists and/or other professionals in the social service sector
Participate, facilitate and present in CPH professional development platforms for knowledge-sharing and enhancement of professional skills
Assist in development of quality improvement projects to improve client care and services, to move beyond pure custodial care model
5. Administrative Duties
Provide administrative duties relevant to clinical practices and as required of the SSA
Attend CPH meetings and events when necessary
Prepare and submit monthly reports, i.e., monthly KPI tracking as required
Carry out any other duties as assigned by reporting officer or Management
6. Self-development
Attend CPH/SSA endorsed training/workshops/seminars so as to develop relevant knowledge and skills
Receive formal supervision from CPH’s approved supervisors as part of professional development
Requirements
1. Educational qualifications
A recognised masters’ degree in Applied Psychology (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Educational Psychology) from an accredited university. The programme must include a supervised practicum and supervised training in psychological assessments
Be registered or otherwise eligible for registration with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) (Full Membership) and Singapore register of Psychologists (SRP) registration
2. Experience
Relevant experience working with either children or adults with developmental disabilities and/ or providing psychological services in similar settings (i.e., SPED, social services sector) will be an advantage
Experience in administering psychoeducational assessment tools and providing intervention based on Positive Behaviour Support is preferable.
3. Other qualities
Self-motivated with strong oral and written communication skills
Able to work independently and collaboratively in multi-disciplinary team
Exceptional planning and organizational skills
Fluency in local languages
