Job Description - Purchasing Executive (Bulk)
Procure vessel spares, stores, lubricants, provisions, and services in accordance with approved requisitions and company procedures.
Prepare, issue, and manage Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring proper authorization, accuracy, and timely closure.
Source competitive quotations, perform price comparisons, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal cost and quality.
Coordinate closely with Technical Superintendents, Operations, and Fleet teams to ensure timely delivery to vessels worldwide.
Monitor and expedite outstanding orders, arranging deliveries at the most cost\-effective and operationally suitable ports.
Ensure all procured items comply with technical specifications, class, flag, and company requirements.
Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier documentation, and inventory\-related reports for audit and compliance purposes.
Handle delivery discrepancies, quality issues, and claims, following up with suppliers for timely resolution.
Monitor supplier performance and maintain an approved vendor list, recommending improvements where necessary.
Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, budgets, and internal control procedures.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
Minimum 2â3 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably with a shipowner or ship management company.
Good knowledge of marine spares, stores, logistics, and shipboard procurement processes.
Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Strong communication, negotiation, and coordination skills with the ability to work independently under time pressure.
