Job Scope:

1. Conduct assigned inspection and testing activities, following the established quality plan.
2. Perform visual, incoming, in-process, and final inspections on products to confirm compliance with specifications.
3. Execute Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, including Penetrant Testing and Ultrasonic Testing, as required.
4. Operate and maintain the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to ensure dimensional accuracy of components.
5. Verify that all products meet applicable test specifications, codes, standards, and customer requirements.
6. Prepare and submit quality reports, certifications, and other required documentation for internal and external review.
7. Clearly identify and document the inspection status of each product to ensure accurate traceability and quality control.

Requirements:

1. Diploma in Engineering or a related field.
2. Holds at least an NDT Level II certification in UT, MPI, or DPI under ASNT or PCN standards.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in QA/QC roles.
4. Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
5. Previous exposure to or experience in the oil & gas industry is an advantage.

Interviewer sharing:

1. The company has a unique QC dept.
2. Where during audits, the QC engineers will face the auditors & the inspectors shall support.
3. The QC dept has DC to control the documentation, so we need to conduct inspection & the QC will prepare the MRB.
4. The company has other areas, heat treatment, PMI.
5. The company has regular ISO and API audits
Hardness testing will be checked by the QC.

What brands of CMMs have you used?
• Can you program and operate CMMs?
• Do you know measurement symbols and tolerances like parallelism and roundness?
• How do you measure concentricity vs coaxiality with a CMM or manually?
• What else do you inspect besides dimensions?
• What tools and methods do you use for these inspections?
• How do you handle complex measurement instructions in English? can understand like lehght, width, height..?
• How do you document measurements and quality reports? Are they handwritten or computerized?
• Who reviews the reports before they go to customers?
• Do you modify drawings or reports for size changes?
• How do you report quality issues or changes to other departments?
• Do you interact directly with customers or is there a dedicated team for that?

Apologies. Candidate not in consideration as recent experience is in aerospace. His prior experience was in shipyard and structure buildings also which is not relevant to our O&G parts (we do deep sea drilling, exploration equipment). Inspectors should have knowledge in ASME too.

For reference, someone who has worked in TechnipFMC, Cameron, Mokveld, one subsea (just to name a few), would have relevant experience.

Definitely a bonus if candidate has NDT certificate. This is a requirement by customer in our industry.
However, we do not focus on MPI. We are looking for PT or UT certified inspectors – is candidate certified with experience in our industry?
