QC Lab Supervisor

Job Summary

Support QC Manager by leading quality control activities, troubleshooting issues, coordinating lab team operations, and ensuring compliance with quality standards in a manufacturing analytical laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist QC Manager in classifying final products and reworked lots to ensure accurate quality categorization
• Troubleshoot and investigate quality issues, implementing improvements based on analysis gap studies to enhance product quality
• Monitor in-process samples and collaborate with production teams to initiate preventive and corrective actions
• Prepare detailed activity and progression reports to identify and address recurring quality or testing reliability problems
• Monitor staff performance, laboratory equipment, and processes to maintain quality control system effectiveness and efficiency
• Prepare quality and budget reports and provide timely updates to management
• Coordinate daily activities of Laboratory Assistants inspecting raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products to meet quality standards
• Prioritize and assign tasks to optimize team resource utilization and ensure work schedules and targets are achieved

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience in analytical laboratory testing within a manufacturing facility, specifically in Wet Chemistry methods
• Proficient understanding of laboratory equipment such as GC, AAS, Auto-titrator, NIR, ICP, GC-MS, Antek, KF, IR, UV, Extruder, DSC
• Experience with manual testing procedures (non-automated testing machines)
• Knowledge of statistical process control and statistical quality control techniques
• Experience preferred in polymer testing and analytical techniques
• Proficient with computer software applications including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases, and NWA
• SAP and LIMS system experience preferred
• Ability to supervise and lead a team of Laboratory Assistants effectively
