Quality Lab Manager (1 year contract, Renewable / convertible)

This is a professional quality position with QA/QC responsibilities, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the quality of our products/services throughout the entire lifecycle.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify quality issues, develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Your role will be essential in delivering products that meet customer expectations, enhancing customer satisfaction, and optimizing overall business performance.

In this role, you will be reporting to Plant Manager and manage a team of 3-4 quality engineer & technicians. 

Job Responsibilities :

Quality Assurance:

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures.
• Conduct audits and assessments to identify potential areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with production/development teams to establish quality standards and ensure adherence to them.
• Monitor product/service quality metrics, analyze data, and provide reports to management.
• Track, investigate, and resolve customer complaints and product issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential quality-related risks and develop risk mitigation plans.

Product/Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Implement statistical tools and quality methodologies to analyze and improve processes.
• Collaborate with R&D or engineering teams to introduce new products or implement product changes with quality in mind.

Quality Control:

• Perform inspections and tests during various stages of production to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Develop and maintain inspection procedures and inspection criteria.
• Work with procurement to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.

Other responsibilities:

• Supervise and train Quality Engineer, Lab Technicians and Interns where applicable.
• Oversee day-to-day activities of quality team to ensure smooth operation by working closely with other departments including production, engineering, procurement and warehouse.
• Provide formal reporting on plant performance and issues.
• Lead efforts to ensure good 5S in the laboratory to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
• Ad-hoc duties/assignments by supervisor.

Requirements:

• Degree in Chemistry or related field
• at least 3 years' experience in quality management in chemical manufacturing industry
• Proven experience in quality engineering or quality assurance roles.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, methodologies, and tools
• Experienced in managing a team of people and roll out new compliance initiatives for quality lab. 
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of problem-solving skills & able to do decision making; Organized, Quality / Meticulous.
• Team player with strong interpersonal and multi-tasking skills that can complete tasks with proper time management.
• preferred someone who has experience liaise with external auditor for ISO standards. 
• convertible to permanent role if good performance.
