Denka Life Innovation Research Private Limited (DLIR) is established in Biopolis, Singapore, with the aim of securing the first overseas R&D base of the global chemistry company, Denka Co. (Japan). Our missions are to contribute our company growth in 2030 (Mission 2030) via developing healthcare related products such as diagnostics, medical simulator, and wearable medical devices.

The device development team was launched in February 2023 to achieve higher sensitivity in immunological and molecular diagnostics by conducting assays and device development in parallel within a research institute. The team is further expanding to collaborate with various departments and research teams of Japan in the fields of medical simulator and wearable medical devices.

Position: R&D Electrical Engineer

Employment type: 3-years renewable contract

Job Description 

DLIR is looking for an Electrical Engineer to innovate and design PCBs for point-of-care diagnostics. We're searching for a team-oriented, quick learner with adept problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills. The ideal candidate must have at least basic experience with PCB design while possessing expertise in at least one of the following areas:

• Read and interpret electrical / electronic schematics.
• Create detailed electrical layout with the use of schematics and CAD tools available for fabrication of the printed circuit board using automated printers or hands-on soldering.
• Assembling and integration of electrical hardware with mechanical components for rapid prototyping purposes
• Collaborating with team members to analyze and contribute to the master layout of design components, circuitry, packaging, and initial parts list.

Working hours: 8:45-17:30 (Mon-Fri)

Requirements: 

1. Basic experience in understanding PCB designs and schematics.
2. Basic experience in using CAD design tools for designing and fabrication of printed circuit boards.
3. Experience with microprocessor platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP8266/ESP32, or others.
4. Have interest and basic experience in electrical hardware assembly and hands on soldering skills.
5. Bachelor's Degree / Diploma holders in Bioengineering, Biophysics, physics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, or any related fields. 
6. Excellent communication skills in English (Written and verbal).
