Regional Head of Footwear Development

Roles and Responsibilities: 

Product Development: handle the entire pipeline of product development from sourcing to final delivery 

Material and Component Selection: Research and select cutting-edge materials and components that enhance the functionality and aesthetics of our footwear while meeting costing requirements 

Prototyping and Testing: Ensure rigorous testing and validation of prototypes to meet performance, durability, and comfort criteria. 

Technical Oversight: Provide technical expertise and ensure the creation of detailed technical specifications and documentation for manufacturing processes. 

Market Research: Stay ahead of industry trends, consumer preferences, and technological advancements to inform and inspire the team. 

Quality Assurance: Maintain stringent quality standards through comprehensive testing and analysis. 

Sourcing: Find and maintain relationships with the best manufacturers that can meet our needs 

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of footwear developers and merchandisers 

Requirements: 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field.  

Experience: 7+ years of experience in footwear design and development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a high-performance or athletic brand preferred. 

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, manage multiple projects, and drive results. 

Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, 3D modelling, and other design tools. In-depth knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes. 

Understanding of Biomechanics: Comprehensive understanding of biomechanics to ensure designs optimise athlete performance and reduce injury risk. 

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively to various stakeholders. 

Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage complex projects. 

Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
