Job Description - Regional Surety Business Development Manager

Allianz Trade is a leader in the trade credit insurance market and embraces innovative technologies. We utilize Artificial Intelligence powered tools and encourage candidates with a basic understanding of commonly used platforms, as well as an awareness of best practices and the potential risks associated with AI in the workplace to apply.

This role will be reporting to the Regional Head of Surety, APAC

Job Purpose:

To contribute to the achievement of profitable and sustainable growth in the frame of Allianz Trade's Group Strategy for the development of the Surety line of business in the APAC region. The successful candidate will be expected to create and implement business plans to develop, diversify and expand the surety business across the APAC region.

Key responsibilities:
  • Achievement of commercial & financial results in accordance with the APAC surety objectives and budget.
  • Create and implement strategies to develop the Allianz Trade Surety brand in the market via various channels (brokers, banks, direct).
  • Expansion of Allianz Trade Surety & Guarantee geographical footprint in APAC region; development of new surety markets & distribution channels trough partnerships
  • Regional pipeline management & origination of surety business opportunities that fit our strike zone; strong focus on execution and high conversation ratio
  • Development of the product line & associated operating procedures across the APAC region.
  • Structuring of large, complex (international) transactions with multinationals/large corps and facilitating support & guidance on fronting, syndicated and (facultative) reinsurance transactions
  • Active contribution to digitalization efforts/initiatives and identification/implementation of digital distribution opportunities as they arise (i.e. high volumes/low values surety product) over time.

Key Requirements:

  • 7 years experience in a reputable Surety, Insurer or Bank.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business
  • In-depth knowledge of the product (types of bonds, regulatory requirements).
  • Good knowledge in structuring complex contractual deals/syndications.
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders internally and externally
  • Proven ability to assess and evaluate technical and financial risks
  • Experience in the creation and implementation of business development plans
  • Knowledge of distribution channels and experience in managing relationships with intermediaries and banks
  • Experience in the definition of processes, procedures and information systems
