Regulatory Assurance / Compliance Testing Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Regulatory Assurance / Compliance Testing professional to join a leading financial institution in Singapore on a 12-month contract.

This is a hands-on role within the regulatory compliance function, focused on assessing how effectively regulatory requirements and internal controls are being applied across the business. You will play an important role in identifying weaknesses, recommending improvements and helping strengthen the organisation's overall control environment.

Key responsibilities:

1. Develop and carry out compliance assurance and control testing reviews across regulatory and financial crime-related activities.
2. Assess whether business processes and controls are operating effectively and in line with applicable Singapore regulations and internal requirements.
3. Plan review programmes, including defining testing approaches, sampling methodologies and assessment criteria.
4. Analyse review results to identify control weaknesses, recurring issues and areas where processes can be improved.
5. Work closely with business teams, Compliance and Risk stakeholders to agree appropriate corrective actions and follow up on their implementation.
6. Monitor outstanding issues and remediation plans to ensure actions are completed within agreed timelines.
7. Produce clear reports highlighting key findings, emerging trends, risk areas and recommended actions for senior stakeholders.
8. Prepare regular management information, dashboards and reporting for relevant governance and compliance forums.
9. Contribute to the development and enhancement of compliance testing methodologies, policies and procedures.
10. Support regulatory and governance-related reporting requirements and ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
11. Work with regional and Group teams to ensure consistency in testing standards, reporting and overall compliance assurance practices.
12. Identify opportunities to use data and analytics to make compliance monitoring and testing more effective.

What we're looking for:

1. Experience in regulatory compliance, compliance assurance, risk, control testing, internal audit or a similar financial services environment.
2. Good understanding of the Singapore regulatory landscape and banking/financial services controls.
3. Strong experience in testing, monitoring, reviewing controls and identifying gaps.
4. Comfortable analysing findings and translating them into practical recommendations.
5. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with business and senior stakeholders.
6. Structured and detail-oriented, with strong report-writing and analytical capabilities.
7. Experience within banking, financial services or another regulated environment is highly desirable.
