RELIEF EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT (PRIMARY & SECONDARY)

MISSION

Reporting to the Pastoral Care Manager (Primary) or the Head of School Life / CPE (Secondary), the Relief Educational Assistant provides supervision and educational support during temporary staff absences.

Depending on the position recruited for, the successful candidate will be assigned to either the Primary School or the Secondary School. Working on an on-call basis, the Relief Educational Assistant contributes to maintaining a safe, caring and positive learning environment while ensuring continuity in students' supervision and daily activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Student Supervision & Well-being

• Welcome, supervise and accompany students from their arrival at school until their departure.
  


• Supervise students during recess, lunch, transitions, study periods, extracurricular activities, school trips and other school events.
  


• Ensure students' safety, well-being and respect for school rules at all times.
  


• Promote positive behaviour, mutual respect and an inclusive school environment.
  


• Observe students' behaviour and communicate any concerns or incidents to the relevant pastoral or educational team.
  


• Resolve minor conflicts and provide first response for minor injuries when required.
  


• Monitor attendance, late arrivals and student movements where applicable.
  

Educational Support

• Support teachers with educational, recreational and school activities.
  


• Assist in the preparation of learning materials and educational projects.
  


• Supervise study sessions and, where appropriate, provide homework support.
  


• Organise and facilitate recreational, sports, artistic and cultural activities.
  


• Participate in school events, examinations, excursions and other educational activities when required.
  

Operational & Administrative Support

• Support the daily organisation of student life within the assigned school.
  


• For Primary: assist with lunch supervision, lunch box organisation, playground supervision and age-appropriate educational activities.
  


• For Secondary: supervise study periods, detentions, student common areas and support examination organisation where required.
  


• Report any health, safety or maintenance concerns.
  


• Assist with occasional administrative tasks.
  


• Report any maintenance, health or safety concerns observed on campus.
  


• erform any other duties assigned by the school leadership.
  

PROFILE

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  


• Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school, childcare, educational or recreational environment is highly desirable.
  


• BAFA or equivalent childcare qualification is an advantage.
  


• Experience supervising groups of children or teenagers is appreciated.

• Ability to manage student behaviour with confidence and consistency.
  


• Strong organisational skills and adaptability.
  


• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Comfortable using digital tools.
  


• French language skills are an advantage but not mandatory 
  

ELIGIBILITY

• Applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents (PR).
  


• This is a Relief (Substitute) position to cover temporary staff absences.
  


• Candidates must be flexible and available to work according to the operational needs of the school, sometimes at short notice.
  


• No minimum number of working hours can be guaranteed.
  

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Relief / Casual position.
  


• This vacancy is open for Relief Educational Assistants in both the Primary and Secondary Schools. Successful candidates will be assigned to one school according to the position offered and operational needs.​
  


• Working days and hours vary according to staff absences.
  


• Salary paid according to the IFS relief salary scale.
