Job Description - Research Assistant (Applications of Riemannian Optimization to Quantum Computing)

Research assistant in “Specialist in applications of Riemannian optimization to quantum computing

The Nanyang Quantum Solutions team led by Prof. Marek Gluza at NTU Singapore is seeking a new member to propose new quantum algorithmic solutions based on Riemannian geometry.

With Prof. Marek Gluza at NTU Singapore who is eager to debate with you whether double-bracket quantum algorithms or a different approach are the right one when executing on Helios or Heron. The research group is being formed and see https://marekgluza.github.io/ for the intended culture centered on the idea of serving experimental efforts through theoretical support developing quantum middleware solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use analytical techniques of Riemannian optimization to analyze the performance of quantum algorithms derived, e.g. from double-bracket flows.

  • Propose new quantum algorithms and new proof techniques.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics, computer science or related field

  • At least 1 years of relevant experiences in research on quantum algorithms, e.g. final year project

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Proficiency in Riemannian geometry and quantum computing

  • Ability to work independently, develop solutions under strict timelines, meticulous and eye for details, excellent organizational and time management skills.
