MindVibes Pte Ltd is seeking adynamic professional for a hybrid role that blends hands-on performance testing with research, data analysis, and corporate client relationship management. This dual-responsibility position is ideal for an exercise physiologist cum researcher with both applied laboratory testing skills and strong stakeholder-facing capabilities.
The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver physiological assessments, support laboratory-based research on exercise, skeletal-muscle health, and ageing, while concurrently serving as the primary project and relationship manager for assigned corporate clients and their participants.
Key Responsibilities
Track 1: Physiological Assessment & Research Services
The incumbent will drive three critical subfunctions, acting simultaneously as a independent contributor (delivering hands-on technical excellence) and a Team Lead (establishing the infrastructure, protocols, quality standards, and safety frameworks).
(a) Physiological Assessment & Testing Services
As an Independent Contributor:
Conduct cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) services, ensuring accurate setup, calibration, and implementation of standardized yet individualized exercise protocols tailored to participants' physiological fitness, functional capacity, and study requirements across laboratory and field-based settings.
Assess maximal aerobic power (VO2max) using a metabolic cart and standardised graded protocols.
Acquire, analyze, and interpret comprehensive CPET-derived physiological data, including metabolic, cardiovascular, and exercise performance parameters. Evaluate indices such as oxygen uptake kinetics, ventilatory efficiency, breathing reserve, and substrate utilization to characterize cardiorespiratory fitness, exercise tolerance, and physiological adaptations. Translate complex CPET outcomes into clear, actionable insights, supporting exercise prescription and performance optimization.
Execute advanced physiological profiling, including monitoring tissue oxygenation through Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS/MOXY), capillary blood sampling via finger-prick techniques, venous blood collection, and downstream blood biomarker and biochemical analyses for metabolic, inflammatory, and physiological profiling.
Execute advanced biomechanical assessments, including strength diagnostics and torque profiling using 1-Repetition Maximum (1RM) testing and Biodex isokinetic dynamometry systems, motion biomechanics and kinematic analysis systems for movement and gait evaluation, force plates for kinetic, jump, and power assessments, and reaction time testing systems.
As a Team Lead:
Design comprehensive physiological testing services and establish the underlying baseline testing infrastructure for the organization.
Create, standardize, and document detailed assessment protocols, ensuring rigid safety and ethical guidelines are hardcoded into all testing routines.
Supervise temporary manpower and guide other testing team members during assessment windows to maintain testing integrity.
(b) Research & Laboratory Services
As an Independent Contributor:
Initiate and execute applied research projects on physiology (e.g., skeletal-muscle, heart, etc.), exercise intervention, and nutritional/supplementation studies, across clinical, athletic, and healthy aging populations, incorporating both aerobic and resistance training modalities, including study design support, protocol development, intervention standardization, dosage and progression strategies, and outcome evaluation across acute and chronic responses.
Perform specialized laboratory techniques, including immunohistochemistry and quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR), Western blotting, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to support skeletal muscle assessment, exercise-induced muscle inflammation, and regeneration processes, whenever necessary.
Coordinate relevant research and testing procedures with appropriate external parties and research teams, managing participant readiness and related logistics.
As a Team Lead:
Formulate applied research directions and frameworks that advance the body of work and proprietary knowledge for MindVibes.
Develop and document all physiology and laboratory testing protocols in strict accordance with industry-endorsed, regulatory, and institutional standards.
Manage day-to-day operations and laboratory upkeep, taking ownership of testing facility readiness, equipment maintenance schedules, consumables inventory, and absolute compliance with laboratory safety standards.
(c) Participants & Data Management
As an Independent Contributor:
Execute participant recruitment campaigns, including targeted study advertising via social media platforms and other outreach channels, and coordinate onboarding pipelines for ongoing laboratory research studies.
Perform statistical analysis of collected data using R, Python and SPSS, integrate and process muti-modal dataset and translate complex datasets into user-friendly formats for relevant parties.
Develop digital platforms (e.g., applications and web-based tools) for data collection, monitoring, participant engagement and data analysis, facilitating streamlined research workflows and data management.
Provide and present insights on data gathered as required by clients and partner agencies, or at selected platforms.
Coach participants on report interpretation and present to client management on overall findings
As a Team Lead:
Architect, build, and maintain data infrastructure and participant data management systems for ongoing efforts in research and development work.
Establish rigorous data governance frameworks, serving as the lead authority to guide other team members in compliance matters (e.g., study protocols, data-protection requirements like PDPA, and applicable safety standards), data analysis and insights translation by other team members.
Provide and present high-level insights on data gathered as required by clients, corporate management, and partner agencies at selected platforms.
Track 2: Client Relationship & Project Management
Appointed Client Relationship Manager to assigned clients, serving as the key liaison contact for all matters relating to the client’s project and building positive relationships with client management and their participants.
Act as the strategic interface between MindVibes and corporate client
Qualifications: Master's degree in Sports Sciece, Exercise Physiology, or a closely related field (a strong background in a life-science discipline — e.g. microbiology, biology, biochemistry — is an asset).
Testing Experience: Demonstrated experience at least 3 years conducting exercise and performance testing in an academic, clinical or high-performance setting.
Technical Skills: Hands-on competence with exercise physiology testing such as CPET and assessment, biomechanical and human performance evaluations (e.g., strength, power, gait, and reaction time assessments), blood collection and downstream biochemical analyses, and exercise intervention and supplementation studies. Experienced in supervising others during testing periods. Proficient in the operation of specialized research and performance-testing equipment, data interpretation, statistical analysis and data management using SPSS, Python, and R.
Language Skills: Proficient English and Mandarin writing skills, required for corporate, technical, and participant reports. Proficient English and Mandarin communications and presentation skills, required for participant coaching and high-level client management presentations.
Preferred/ Desirable
Experience with body composition (DXA), strength diagnostics (1RM) and tissue oxygenation (NIRS).
Familiarity with research on skeletal-muscle physiology, cellular senescence, ageing or sports-nutrition supplementation.
Experience coordinating muscle-biopsy procedures within a research team.
Background in participant recruitment and laboratory management.
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification, or willingness to obtain it.
Interest in longevity, lifestyle medicine and prevention-focused health models.
Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in diverse, multidisciplinary teams and to contribute to colleagues' success.
Leadership & Initiative: Comfortable taking ownership of tasks; prior leadership experience (e.g. team captaincy or coaching) valued.
Communication: Clear written and verbal communication; able to explain complex data to non-specialists and corporate executives alike.
Rigour: Meticulous, safety-conscious and detail-oriented in data collection, record-keeping, and project management timelines.
Empathy & Professionalism: High EQ in relating to colleagues, clients and partner agencies; able to build and maintain strong relationships. Client-centred approach when working with human participants and corporate management.
