The Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions (CNCS) at the National University of Singapore invites applications for the position of Research Fellow, who will contribute to the development and application of approaches for estimating forest carbon stocks across tropical ecosystems in Southeast Asia. The appointment is for an initial period of one year with the possibility of renewal and is expected to begin as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will contribute to research on quantifying forest biomass and carbon stocks across multiple forest types in Southeast Asia, including peat swamp, mangrove, and terrestrial forests. The role will involve integrating field inventory data with multiple remote sensing datasets (e.g., optical, radar, and LiDAR) to support modelling, data analysis, and dataset development relevant to forest carbon estimation.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
PhD in Natural Sciences, Climate Science, Geography, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
