Research Fellow (Geophysics / Geomechanics)

The Centre for Urban Solutions at School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore is seeking an outstanding Research Fellow with a background in geophysical investigation, geomechanical engineering, and machine learning.

The Centre for Urban Solutions is to provide leadership in developing innovative solutions and sustainable technologies for space creation and urban infrastructure development.

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Nanyang Technological University is a leading school for Sustainable Built Environment. It has over 50 faculty members and more than 1,500 students and is rapidly expanding its range of education and research activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Involve in a research project related to marine geophysics and data analytics;

• Development of marine geophysical survey and machine learning algorithms;

• Process geophysical/geomechanical data and analyze the data using machine learning;

• Conduct research, supervise undergraduate students, and write project reports and scientific articles.

Job Requirements:

• A Bachelor degree in geophysics or equivalent and a PhD degree in geophysics / geomechanics or equivalent from a recognized university;

• Able to work independently and collaborate with team members;

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders

• Working or research experience in geophysics of at least 1 year is desirable.

• Experience in geophysical/geomechanical investigation and machine learning is desirable.
