The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences is a center for a broad spectrum of mathematics, pure and applied.
There is an opening for a research fellow in the group of Dr. Milind Hegde. The research will broadly be in the area of stochastic growth models and the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang universality class, though related areas of probability may also be of interest.
The position is for a maximum of 3 years. It does not come with any teaching obligations, though there may be opportunities for those interested in some light teaching for the purpose of career development. There will be adequate funds available for academic travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform research into KPZ
Potentially aid in organization of research events focused on probability theory and KPZ
Job Requirements:
A PhD with a focus in probability theory or a closely related area.
Strong research record
Preferred but not required: Research experience in KPZ, interacting particle systems, integrable probability, first or last passage percolation, polymer models, or random matrix theory
