Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow (Optical Measurement)

Join the Hyundai-NTU-A*STAR Corporate Lab and contribute to cutting-edge R&D in AI, Robotics, 3D Printing, and Digital Twins for advanced automotive manufacturing. This role focuses on developing an optical surface profiling system for car body inspection, with emphasis on structured light imaging and defect detection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement image acquisition and structured light profiling systems

• Perform data analysis to detect and quantify surface defects (e.g. width, depth)

• Evaluate and validate the performance of inspection and detection methods

• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations on project progress

• Support and mentor student research projects where applicable

Requirements:

• PhD in a relevant field such as Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline

• Experience or knowledge in imaging systems, computer vision, or related technical areas

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team

• Good organisational skills and ability to manage timelines effectively
