We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join a research group led by Asst Prof Zeng Yiwen. The successful candidate will work on a multidisciplinary biodiversity modelling and spatial ecology project focused on urban Singapore.

Key Responsibilities: 

The Research Fellow will develop species distribution models, multi-species occupancy models, biodiversity indicators, and geospatial decision-support tools using ecological surveys, remote sensing, and airborne LiDAR data. The position offers opportunities to collaborate with government agencies, industry partners, and leading researchers while contributing to high-impact scientific publications and policy-relevant research.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Ecology, Environmental Science, Geography, Geospatial Science, Remote Sensing, Conservation Biology, Data Science, or a related field.

• Experience in ecological modelling, spatial ecology, biodiversity assessment, or remote sensing.

• Proficiency in R and/or Python, GIS, and quantitative data analysis.

• Experience with species distribution models (SDMs), occupancy models, or related statistical modelling approaches.

• Strong publication record and scientific writing skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with airborne LiDAR, urban ecology, or biodiversity modelling is advantageous.
