Security System Engineer

Job Summary

The Security System Engineer is responsiblefor the technical design and engineering coordination of ELV and securitysystems during the pre-implementation stage of projects.

The role focuses on translating tender specifications, consultant requirements,and design briefs into compliant system designs, layout drawings, schematics,technical calculations, and approved submissions before handover to the projectimplementation team.

This role is primarily engineering and design-focused and is not responsiblefor day-to-day site coordination, procurement, or project execution activities.

System Design & Engineering

·      Study tender specifications,drawings, and design briefs.

·      Develop ELV system designs forCCTV, Access Control, Intercom, Carpark, Public Address, Smart Home, HearingEnhancement and other ELV systems.

·      Prepare system architecture andtechnical design proposals.

·      Determine equipment locationsand system layouts based on project requirements and compliance standards.

·      Ensure designs comply withproject specifications, authority requirements, and relevant standards.

Drawing & CAD Coordination

·      Review and update CAD drawingsprepared by drafters.

·      Prepare and revise systemlayout plans, schematic drawings, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams,equipment layout drawings, and integration schematics.

·      Coordinate with drafters toensure drawings are updated accurately and promptly.

·      Maintain drawing revisions andsubmission records.

Technical Calculations & Integration

·      Perform engineeringcalculations including UPS sizing, PoE loading calculations, heat loadcalculations, storage calculations, network bandwidth calculations, and powerconsumption calculations.

·      Prepare BMS integration pointschedules and interface requirements.

·      Coordinate integrationrequirements with third-party systems such as lift systems, BMS, fire alarmsystems, visitor management systems, and smart home platforms.

Technical Submission & Compliance

·      Prepare catalogue submissionsand technical compliance documents.

·      Review product specificationsand ensure compliance with tender requirements.

·      Follow through technicalsubmissions until consultant/client approval is obtained.

·      Ensure approved materials andsystem configurations tally with awarded Purchase Orders and contractrequirements.

·      Coordinate technicalclarifications with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

Project Handover

·      Ensure all approved drawings,submissions, and technical documents are properly organized before projecthandover.

·      Conduct technical handover tothe project implementation team upon completion of design and approval stage.

·      Provide technical support andclarification to project teams where required.

Requirements

·      Diploma or Degree in ElectricalEngineering, Electronics Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.

·      Experience in ELV/securitysystem design and engineering.

·      Proficient in AutoCAD.

·      Knowledge in ELV system designand schematic preparation.

·      Able to interpret tenderspecifications and construction drawings.

·      Knowledge of networkingfundamentals and system integration is an advantage.

·      Familiar with BIM/Revit is anadvantage.

·      Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills.

·      Able to work independently andmanage multiple projects concurrently.

·      This role focuses onpre-implementation engineering and system design.
