Position Summary

Th e Se n ior Ana l yst connects the narrat i ve with the numbers. On the c u tt i ng edge of Car l y l e's fund -l eve l performance data, t h e Senior Ana l yst's pr i mary ro l e is synthesizing the data into crisp, concise, and insightfu l takeaways fo r interna l and externa l stakeho l ders. Key recurring de l iverab l es include fund performance forecast i ng and optim i zation, brainstorming and designing materia l s to support p r esentations and m eet i ngs with key i nvestors, a n alysis and rev i ew of the va l uations of the fund's portfo l io compan i es, and supporting Car l y l e's i nvestment teams to execute acqu i sitions and dispositions.

Responsibilities

• Review and design presentations summarizing the performance of Carlyle Asia funds and portfolio companies to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Collect and critically assess projections of investment-level exit valuations prepared by Carlyle's investment professionals. Synthesize the data into a narrative at the investment and fund-level. Design executive-level reporting and narratives around projected fund performance and distribution timing.

• Review, evaluate, and prepare executive-level presentations related to quarterly valuations for fund portfolio companies prepared by investment teams. Own and manage the organization and retention of quarterly valuation deliverables and related supporting documentation.

• Collaborate with Carlyle's investment professionals to plan, communicate, and operationalize the funding of investment acquisitions and dispositions. This includes reviewing calculations, preparing internal schedules to facilitate communications, drafting messaging for investor capital calls and distributions, and project-managing the execution of the acquisition or disposition transaction.

• Ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned, potentially including:

o Collect, analyze, and synthesize performance metrics into takeaways for FM and investment team executives.

o Review portfolio company operational updates and other financial analysis and research.

o Design and prepare presentations for meetings with investment team executives.

o Support fundraising, including ideation, design, and preparation of marketing materials and responses to due diligence requests.

o Respond to internal stakeholder and external investor requests for information on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

Education & Certificates

• Bachelors Degree, required

• Finance, Accounting, or Engineering concentration, preferred

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience, required

• Financial Services experience preferred

Competencies & Attributes

• Demonstrated record of expertise in quantitative analysis and financial modelling

• Strong accounting or financial background with the capability and desire to learn the accounting and financial principles related to private equity

• Advanced Microsoft Office (including Excel and PowerPoint) skills required

• Ability to operate in a demanding and fast paced environment and balance multiple tasks

• Significant overtime as well as availability outside of normal business hours required frequently, especially during quarterly valuation cycles, in connection with deal closings and during fundraising periods

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Self-starter with an ownership mentality

• Strong interpersonal skills a must

• Well-rounded with strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Ability to succeed in a matrix organization with multiple areas of responsibilities

• High integrity and dedication to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary material
