Senior Carpenter

Job Summary

You will lead junior carpenters to assemble and finish furniture, prepare and cut materials to size, operate carpentry machines and equipment, ensure safety compliance, maintain tools, and address customer concerns while meeting project timelines.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings to guide furniture assembly and finishing work
• Operate carpentry machines and equipment safely and efficiently
• Prepare and cut materials to specified sizes for furniture assembly
• Lead junior carpenters by delegating tasks and ensuring quality workmanship
• Ensure safety measures are followed and take necessary precautions on site
• Monitor project timelines and coordinate work to meet deadlines
• Inspect finished products and address customer complaints promptly
• Maintain and check all machines, equipment, and tools regularly for proper functioning
• Follow blueprints accurately to meet client requirements

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a furniture or renovation carpenter
• Skilled in using hand and power tools such as drills, chisels, sanders, saws, and nail guns
• Proficient in joinery and cabinet-making techniques
• Knowledgeable about building regulations and codes relevant to carpentry work
