Job description

Manufacturing line support

• Conduct real-time problem analysis on defects, equipment alarms, and statistical process control (SPC) violations. Determine solutions by liaising with all involved parties.


• Implement corrective and preventive actions. Update process specifications and operating procedure documents.

Process set-up and optimization

• Collaborate with technology development and device engineers to develop or transfer new processes.


• Evaluate new processes, consumables, slurry, or chemicals, and perform process characterization.


• Understand and improve process margin and robustness.

Equipment management

• Analyze and identify specific equipment failure modes with equipment engineers.


• Perform equipment qualification after each maintenance intervention.

Cross-functional activities and continuous improvement

• Participate in cross-functional or excellence teams to improve quality, cycle time, and cost.


• Drive excellence programs to resolve technical issues effectively and efficiently.


• Mentor new hires and less experienced team members.

Environmental safety

• Ensure processes and control procedures comply with company environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements and procedures.


• Initiate process improvements to minimize environmental impact or risk.


• Safeguard company assets by adhering to safety procedures.

Job requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering, materials science engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or mechatronics engineering.


• At least 5 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor industry with a background in chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) processes.


• Familiarity with CMP equipment such as AMAT MirraMesa or EBARA tools, related consumables, and slurry characteristics.


• Excellent statistical thinking and creative problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.


• Self-driven, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects.


• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.


• Strong interest to use or adopt artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize workflows.
