RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend to risks requiring reinsurance by effecting treaty cessions/or fac. placements in accordance with guidelines laid down by the Company's Risk Management policy and Reinsurance programme.
• Maximise retention of risks to increase Net Written Premium as a percentage of Gross Written Premium through sound assessment of risks and underwriting information and risk survey reports.
• Assist in the yearly compilation of reinsurance statistical data, treaty renewal information as required.
• Assist HOD in continual Process Health Checks. Ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness in work processes within the RI unit. Ensure RI documentation is handled properly.
• Processing of Facultative Inward / Outward Reinsurance including checking and signing off policies.
• Monitor reinsurers' rating status and exposure.
• Ensure compliance with all laws, regulatory provisions and group policies as are relevant to the role
• Undertake any other duties as may be assigned.

• Preferably Tertiary qualification with minimum professional insurance qualification in General Insurance

• Operations experience in general insurance environment
• Technical reinsurance support
• Sound knowledge in underwriting, reinsurance and risk management
• Good communications skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• Aptitude for numbers
